Kas Kinkead and Marty Babcock spent over ten years vacationing in a 22-foot boat on Decatur Island, learning to appreciate small living spaces. As they deepened their connection to the area and neighbors, their desire to spend more time there increased, prompting the need for a more substantial shelter. Winter made living on the boat unsustainable, leading them to decide to construct a small cabin that would preserve the island's natural beauty while furthering their commitment to their second home.
