Terry McLaurin desires a new contract before the upcoming season, yet the Washington Commanders have not met his demands. The situation has led to McLaurin skipping voluntary OTAs and mandatory minicamp, and could result in a practice holdout during training camp. His frustration and feelings of being undervalued are evident, as he has not communicated with team management for over a month. The team's lack of movement in negotiations has raised concerns amongst fans and analysts, highlighting a widening gap in expectations between McLaurin and the Commanders.
There hasn't been communication since, and that's a little bit odd to me, and it's clear they've come up with a number, we don't know what the number is and we don't know what Terry's asking for, but it's pretty clear that they're not in the same ballpark and the Commanders have not budged. Veterans report for training camp on July 22nd. Does that deadline spark a little more discussion? I certainly hope so, but it was eye-opening to hear from Terry McLaurin himself that he's frustrated and disappointed about where things are right now.
McLaurin wants a new deal before the campaign. The Commanders haven't bowed to his demands as yet, and any progress has been minimal at best.
