Dru Phillips, a cornerback for the Giants, underwent LASIK eye surgery, improving his vision to 20/20. Previously, he struggled to see, which impacted his performance as a rookie and at Kentucky. He described his experience of having difficulty seeing the ball in the air as a major problem. The Giants noticed his vision issues during the draft process, leading him to decide on the surgery. He believes the improvement will enhance his ability to play the nickel position and positively affect his daily life, including driving.
"I was kind of blind before. I hated wearing contacts and it was one of those things that made life a lot easier for me in that sense."
"It's one of those things seeing the ball in the air - that was one of my biggest problems. I can go attack more. I can just see the ball so it helps me in here and in outside life, like driving and stuff."
