
A 30-year-old woman was charged with criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, and reckless driving in connection with a fatal crash in Brooklyn on Dec. 31, 2024. The victim, Michael Foster, 64, was panhandling and walking in the roadway on Caton Ave. near Flatbush Ave. when a white Audi hit him at high speed around 7:30 p.m. Police said the driver dragged Foster for about half a mile before he became dislodged near Linden Blvd. and Nostrand Ave., and the driver never stopped. Foster died at the scene. The woman pleaded not guilty and was released without bail. She had four prior arrests, and witnesses described Foster as a loner who begged for change.
