The woman, whom the authorities did not identify, was clearing the steps at around 12:30 p.m. outside the three-story building where she lived when a section of it suddenly collapsed onto her.
The woman's death prompted the Fire Department to request a structural stability assessment of the two-family property, according to Buildings Department records.
