Governor Paterson and his family are glad to see the suspects turned themselves in. We hope that the young people involved learn something from this unfortunate encounter.
The attack unfolded when Paterson, 70, and his wife's 20-year-old son, Anthony Chester Sliwa, spotted the crew climbing a fire escape shortly before 9 p.m.
The group of suspects had a previous interaction with [Paterson's] stepson, according to Paterson's spokesperson Sean Darcy.
Paterson, who is legally blind, sustained a head injury, while Sliwa suffered a face wound and took the brunt of the attack.
