"In a brief five-second clip posted on TikTok Tuesday, a woman named Abbey said her husband bit into a hot dog topped with mustard and onions-and discovered a razor blade. "I'm still in shock. We found a blade inside the hot dog, and they claimed it didn't come from them," Abbey wrote over the clip. In an interview with AMNY, Abbey expounded on the incident,"
"Abbey said the manager of the original Nathan's told the family that the hot dogs are not made on location and the blade could not have been their responsibility. "He suggested it could have come from the onions or the mustard dispenser," Abbey said, adding that the manager reportedly did not even apologize. The New York City Department of Health confirmed to the New York Post that it received an official complaint about the incident and is investigating."
"Nathan's received an "A" in its latest inspection rating, which is a marked improvement from July 2024, when the establishment was docked 51 points for a variety of violations. Abbey's family finds support online While it may take awhile for an investigation to put this matter to a close, commenters on Abbey's TikTok video have already made up their minds.
