"She says her son asked his sister if she was going to tell their mother what happened and the daughter said "No" before running to the backyard, hiding behind a shed, and calling her mom, extremely scared."
Damien Hurstel, 19, allegedly beheaded his mother's boyfriend, Anthony Casalaspro, and reportedly showed his younger sister the corpse before asking whether their mother should live. The sister told their mother by phone that her boyfriend "doesn't have a head" and initially hid in the backyard after fleeing the bathroom. The mother, Alicia Zayas, recounts that her son allegedly scooped out part of the boyfriend's brain with a spoon. Hurstel faces charges including second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and manslaughter. He reportedly has a history of mental health issues, including schizophrenia.
