BROOKLYN, NY - A teenage boy was shot and wounded while standing on a Brooklyn residential street earlier this month, police said. According to the NYPD, the shooting happened around 6 a.m. on Aug. 19 in front of a residential building at 2719 West 33rd Street, near Kaiser Park. Officers from the 60th Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire and found an 18-year-old man outside the building with a gunshot wound to the buttocks, police said.
An investigation revealed that the teen had been standing outside when four unidentified individuals approached and got into a verbal dispute with him. During the argument, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the victim before fleeing the scene on foot. The 18-year-old was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.
