Rex Heuermann visited a gun club the day before an alleged victim, Jessica Taylor, disappeared. He attended a rifle training event days before her remains were found near the club.
Heuermann was involved with 'shooting clubs' in the area, confirmed by a law enforcement source. Despite his attendance at public events, he was not a member of the club.
The Peconic River Sportsman's Club spokesperson clarified that Heuermann was never a member, but he participated in high-powered rifle events open to the public on a few occasions.
