Yusuf, a doctor, described the horror of the explosions: "Two beeps and a pause was the only warning. Instead of an instrument, I faced an explosion that threw shrapnel into my leg. My patient lost consciousness, with facial burns and knife-like cuts from the blast. It was chaos."
Lebanon's health minister Firas Abiad compared the recent attacks' scale to the Beirut port blast, saying it was far greater: "The wide-ranging attack had a catastrophic impact, injuring over 2,800 and causing panic across Lebanon. Emergency services were overwhelmed, with news quickly spreading of the city's tragedy and chaos as ambulances raced through the streets."
