At the last meeting of the East Palo Alto Sanitary District, board member Glenda Savage sought $16,264 in reimbursements for conferences planned for 2025, making it a contentious final gathering.
While Savage claimed her requests were made before the district's closure, fellow board member Fergusson argued the conferences were unnecessary due to the impending dissolution of the board.
The city had accused the sewer district of impeding development with high fees, while the district defended its actions as ensuring developers pay their share.
In her defense, Savage proclaimed, "I will not go along with this scheme," fiercely arguing against claims that she attended needless conferences before the district's end.
