"She later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota remained on scene. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad."
A 76-year-old woman was struck and killed Sunday night in Queens while walking across part of the Grand Central Parkway. Police said the incident occurred just before 11 p.m. at Exit 10 (Long Island Expressway) within the 110th Precinct in Corona. A 43-year-old man driving a 2013 Toyota Highlander failed to navigate the roadway and hit the woman, later identified as Yuang Qin of Brooklyn, as she walked westbound in the parkway’s eastbound left lane. Qin suffered severe head and torso trauma and was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in critical condition, where she later died. The driver remained on scene, and the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad is continuing the investigation with no arrests reported.
