Anthony Martin, a 32-year-old correction officer, allegedly lured a 20-year-old woman to his home under the guise of offering her an acting job before assaulting her.
Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, 'This defendant - a New York City correction officer - lured a young woman to his home with promises of casting her in an upcoming television show. Instead, he allegedly sexually assaulted her and imprisoned the woman.'
After the assault, the young woman bravely reported the attack to the police and sought medical attention, leading to Martin's arrest on April 2.
The Department of Correction confirmed that Martin was suspended without pay on the same day he was arrested, and he remains in that status while the case unfolds.
