Proposed NYC Ferry route changes would re-establish connection between Staten Island, Brooklyn
Briefly

A new ferry route proposal aims to connect Staten Island and Brooklyn, enhancing existing NYC Ferry services. The route will add a second leg to the St. George connection, allowing travel from Staten Island’s North Shore to Bay Ridge, continuing to Atlantic Avenue and ultimately to Wall Street. This change will create better connections to the East River ferry system, preventing the route from being limited to western Manhattan. Feedback will be collected from riders before finalizing the plan, with changes expected to take effect in the coming winter.
This proposal is the result of years of hard work - listening to riders, engaging community advocates, and doing the behind-the-scenes work to re-establish a long-overdue water link between Staten Island and Brooklyn.
The NYC Ferry has been a game-changer for southern Brooklyn, giving our neighborhoods real public transit options where there weren't any. Linking Staten Island and Bay Ridge by water again just makes sense.
