Police scour landfill for leads in search for missing boy from Brooklyn
"The search for a missing boy from New York City took investigators more than 300 miles away Thursday to a landfill in Monroe County. Jacob Pritchett, 11, who is nonverbal and on the autism spectrum, has not been seen in several weeks, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD). The investigation into his whereabouts began September 25 after a welfare check at his mother's apartment on Howard Avenue in Brooklyn."
"The mother claimed she didn't have a child. Yet, NYPD said officers returned a few days later and found a birth certificate with the woman listed as the mother. She has since been taken into custody at a hospital for evaluation, according to WABC. Investigators searched the building, backyard and nearby dumpsters, but did not find any signs of the boy, WABC said."
