Party City, once the largest party supply chain in the U.S., is shutting down all operations, including its 24 NYC locations, following significant financial struggles.
CEO Barry Litwin announced to employees that operations would wind down immediately, marking a stark end to the company's nearly 40-year legacy as a leader in the industry.
Despite emerging from bankruptcy in February 2023, Party City has continued to face challenges, leading to the closure of 22 stores nationwide, including several in New York.
The chain has seen a dramatic shift in business, prompting closures in key locations while still maintaining a limited number of stores in New York and Long Island.
