NYS trooper faces criminal probe into if he lied about getting shot - as cash, weapons seized: sources

State Police Major Stephen Udice stated, "We have reason to believe that the incident did not occur the way it was reported... We still have many questions..."

Following an internal review, police confirmed the trooper was suspended without pay after the investigation revealed possible discrepancies in his account of the events.
