NYPD: 2 women in custody for Chinatown crash that killed Brooklyn resident

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Bowery and Canal Street. The women, driving a 2024 Chevy Malibu, veered onto the sidewalk island, hitting a 55-year-old bicyclist and a 63-year-old pedestrian before colliding with a parked NYPD van. Both the pedestrian, identified as May Kwok, and the bicyclist, Kevin Scott Cruickshank, were pronounced dead at the scene. Arrests and charges remain pending.
Two women were taken into custody for a crash in Chinatown that killed a resident from Brooklyn. The incident happened on Saturday just before 7:30 a.m. at Bowery and Canal Street.
The two women were traveling in a 2024 Chevy Malibu, drove onto the sidewalk island, and collided with a 55-year-old bicyclist and a 63-year-old pedestrian.
May Kwok, a pedestrian from Brooklyn, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. The bicyclist, Kevin Scott Cruickshank from Manhattan, was also pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle continued to drive onto Bowery and collided with a parked and unoccupied NYPD van. Arrests and charges are still pending.
