The Jennings Creek wildfire, located near Warwick, has consumed over 5,000 acres and has complicated firefighting efforts due to low humidity and wind gusts.
According to meteorologist Cody Braud, the continued dry conditions and wind gusts are making it difficult to fight the fire. The smoke from the blaze spread into the New York metropolitan area.
Authorities reported the wildfire was nearly 90 percent contained by Sunday morning, but its smoke still impacted air quality in metropolitan regions.
