"I screamed," she said, recalling the moment Rayne Beau dashed into the forest. "He was just gone, and we had no idea where he could be."
"We searched for five days, calling out for him and using his favorite toys to lure him back. It was a nightmare," said Susanne. "We felt so helpless."
"By some miracle, Rayne Beau traveled over 800 miles to California, and we couldn't believe it when we finally were reunited with him after weeks of worry," Benjamin recalled.
"Stories like this remind us of the incredible bond between pets and their owners, and how far they're willing to go to find their way home."
