Wenne Alton Davis, known professionally as Wenne Alton and born Wendy Davis, died aged 60 after being struck by a vehicle at West 53rd Street and Broadway in Midtown Manhattan. A black 2023 Cadillac XT6 driven by a 61-year-old man making a left-hand turn hit Davis. Emergency services transported Davis to Mount Sinai West, where they were pronounced dead after sustaining severe head and body trauma. The vehicle operator remained at the scene and was not injured. The NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad is investigating. Davis had moved from Durham to New York to pursue comedy and acting and worked security at JFK.
