Marksman who shot Chris Kaba in Streatham feared officers could be killed'

Martyn Blake, the police officer involved in the shooting, recounted that he believed both he and his colleagues were in imminent danger from Chris Kaba’s actions. He stated, 'I had a genuine belief that either of us could be killed and moved right, out of the way.' Blake described the circumstances leading to his decision to fire, stating, 'The driver reversed back at great speed... I then made the decision to incapacitate the driver due to the imminent threat to my colleagues and took one shot.'
