A man in his 30s arrested as part of this investigation is due to appear before a special sitting of Wexford District Court tonight, January 2nd, 2024, at 10:30pm, where he will be charged in connection with the case.
Childhood friends and neighbours of Mr O'Connor have recently spoken to the Irish Independent about how 'he adored his mother', with one tribute online describing him as 'a beautiful man who would give you his last cent, and a bed to lay in anytime'.
A family member of Mr O'Connor also shared a tribute online saying: 'Rest in peace John. You're with nanny now. I hope you get the best bed up there'.
