A man has been charged with assaulting a police officer during an incident sparked by a suspected drug deal on Cranbrook Road in Ilford.
The police officer was reportedly punched while responding to a situation involving drug offenses, leading to the arrest of a second man.
The assault occurred around 4.23 pm on August 25, when police arrived after receiving reports of a drug deal in progress.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, as the man initially arrested for drug offences has since been bailed.
