Nigel Haselden, a 73-year-old cancer survivor, abseiled 160ft down a London hospital to give back for the care he received, raising £1,000 for the charity.
'I'm very indebted for the attention I've had, and the abseil is one way to give something back,' said Haselden, highlighting the psychological importance of his treatment.
Mr Haselden described the initial fear of stepping off as 'My heart stopped for a millisecond,' but praised the experience, saying, 'the descent was tremendous'.
After battling cancer and currently managing myeloma, Haselden expressed that having the hospital nearby is a 'comforting presence' during his ongoing health challenges.
