Knife-wielding maniac who allegedly smashed windshield of NYPD patrol car with cops inside before attacking them released by judge

Patrick Young, a man who allegedly attacked NYPD officers with a knife and physically assaulted them, was released by a judge despite serious charges including assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Hendry expressed concerns about the release of Young, labeling him a deranged repeat offender who targeted officers and criticizing the justice system's disregard for officer safety.
