I was enjoying my best life and the call came, two weeks notice, and we took the fight." Van explained his strategy in the fight: "The second round man I hurt him, but like I said Mexicans are tough. He won't give up. I did my little homework this time around. He didn't like them body shots that's why we really trying to go down to the body." This highlights Van's tactical approach and respect for his opponent's resilience.

The thing is he got a long ass arm so even though I think I pull back a little bit his arm would still reach me. It was a little new to me fighting as long as him."
