Reflecting on her father's situation, Ms Ap Ellis said, "After 30 years of searching, just realizing he was out there meant a lot, but understanding how to meet him was daunting."
Mr Paul-Walcott described his immediate response, stating, "I approached him and like normal I asked him if he needed some support. The urgency felt profound for both of us."
