Eve Brooks, once unemployed, found purpose and fulfillment in a horticulture program with the NYC Parks and Recreation, now thriving as a gardener at Herbert Von King Park.
Growing up in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooks remembers her early experiences gardening with her father, which fostered her lifelong love for plants and nature.
Despite the laborious nature of her job, Brooks expresses joy in her work and a desire to positively impact those around her every day.
At 64, Brooks shows no signs of slowing down, proudly serving her community as a full-time gardener, bringing happiness to others through her passion.
