"The innovative fan-column structure and triangular bracing allow the building to touch the ground lightly across the entire block, underpinning the essence of the design where the structure is the architecture and the architecture is the structure. By lifting the building approximately 80 feet (24 meters) off the ground, it extends the viewpoint from the Park Avenue entrance through to Madison Avenue."
"270 Park Avenue rises to a supertall height of 1,388 ft (423 m) and serves as the new global headquarters of investment bank JPMorgan Chase. The interior of the tower consists of 60 floors and hosts 10,000 employees, along with thousands of visitors per day. It includes eight large trading floors, office space, an 'Exchange' with sixteen different venues, as well as spaces for town hall meetings and other large gatherings. The uppermost floors host an executive and client facility."
270 Park Avenue is a 1,388 ft (423 m) supertall designed by Foster + Partners and serves as the global headquarters for JPMorgan Chase. The tower ranks as the 6th-tallest in New York City, 8th in the United States, and 35th globally. The building replaces a previous high-rise and responds to a constrained urban site by being lifted roughly 80 feet on large fan-flared columns. The fan-column structure and triangular bracing allow the building to touch the ground lightly across the block while a cantilevering bronze-stepped exterior contrasts with surrounding glass towers. The 60-floor interior accommodates around 10,000 employees, eight large trading floors, an Exchange with sixteen venues, spaces for town-hall gatherings, and upper-level executive and client facilities. No supertall skyscraper can be fully environmentally friendly.
