The Havasupai Indian Reservation, known for its stunning waterfalls, experienced severe flash flooding, leading to the evacuation of over 100 people and one hiker remaining missing.
Emergency response efforts involved the State National Guard, which assisted in rescues and evacuations. They provided food and water while searching areas impacted by the flooding.
Chenoa Nickerson, a 33-year-old hiker missing since the flooding, may have fallen into the Colorado River and was not wearing a life jacket when last seen.
Search operations for Ms. Nickerson included ground and aerial efforts and a dedicated rescue vessel on the Colorado River, however, her whereabouts remain unknown.
