The asphalt fix is the first step in a $70-million full redesign scheduled to begin this fall. Mamdani emphasized both large infrastructure changes and small, immediate fixes to improve conditions for cyclists and said he speaks from personal experience. He noted widespread public attention and pledged further improvements, including finishing the McGuinness Boulevard redesign and prioritizing additional streetscape safety projects.
