On the morning of Eid, there are many large prayer gatherings throughout New York—a festive, diverse event. Washington Square Park's Eid prayer attracts notable figures like Ramy Youssef, Hasan Minhaj, and Ayman Mohyeldin.
Imam Khalid Latif, director of the Islamic Center at N.Y.U., initiated the annual Eid prayer at Washington Square Park over a decade ago to offer a space for the expanding Muslim community and foster community bonds in the diverse city of New York.
