Former garda sergeant says he had no knowledge of complaint made by child alleging assault by sex offender Bill Kenneally
Briefly

Retired Chief Superintendent McGarry expects such an allegation to be directed to the detective branch, not general station officers.
Mr McGarry stated he was not aware of any allegation of child sexual abuse against Kenneally during his time as the sergeant in charge of Waterford garda station.
Mr McGarry described that not all complaints made at the station were notified to him unless an investigation was launched, as some individuals seek advice without wanting to make a formal complaint.
Ray Motherway questioned Mr McGarry about a report by a 14-year-old victim in 1985, where the victim alleged assault by Kenneally and was turned away without any action.
