On March 26, FDNY responded to a five-alarm fire at 505 East 184th St. at 5:30 a.m. Firefighters encountered heavy flames on the top floor and in the cockloft. Over 280 personnel were deployed, and the fire escalated to fifth alarm status by 7:30 a.m. One fatality was reported, and the fire caused severe damage, including a roof collapse. Six firefighters and two civilians suffered minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and FDNY will maintain a presence at the site.
