Federal investigators have initiated a look into Frank Carone, former chief of staff to Mayor Eric Adams, and Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello regarding potential financial dealings.
According to sources, the inquiry involves examining business relationships between Carone and Gigantiello, who have been personal friends for decades, although neither man is facing charges.
A spokeswoman for the Brooklyn Diocese confirmed the subpoena and emphasized the Diocese's commitment to cooperating with law enforcement investigations at both individual parishes and with priests.
Despite the ongoing investigation, Carone maintains he has no knowledge of any criminal inquiry involving him or Gigantiello, while Gigantiello has opted not to comment.
