At the time of the medical episode, Brady was among the firefighters working to extinguish a fire at 9407 Kings Highway, which, according to StreetEasy, is a six story rental apartment building with 96 units."
"Fellow firefighters and medics treated him at the scene and then rushed him to Brookdale hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the release said. "He gave his life protecting the city we all love; there is no sacrifice that is more selfless than the actions that took place this evening," Mayor Eric Adams said at a news conference at the hospital."
Patrick D. Brady, 42, suffered a medical episode and went into cardiac arrest while working on the roof of a burning building in Brownsville, Brooklyn. He was fighting a fire at 9407 Kings Highway, a six‑story rental apartment building with 96 units. Fellow firefighters and medics treated Brady at the scene and transported him to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Brady joined the FDNY on July 14, 2014, served at Engine 227 and transferred to Ladder 120 in 2022. He is survived by his wife, Kara, and two FDNY brothers. The fire marshal is investigating.
