"I'm vindicated, as the truth is out and people are being held accountable," said Shamel Kelly, the former owner of Juice and Moore Bar, highlighting his relief over the investigations into alleged corruption involving City Hall and the Caban brothers.
Kelly alleged that after refusing to pay James Caban $2,500 for police assistance, he was subjected to a "shakedown" and a "pay-for-play" scheme while running his bar.
Daniels stated, "It doesn't make sense to come to an establishment over and over and have 50 officers respond to a noise complaint, suggesting excessive and unnecessary police presence tied to the ongoing investigation."
Villalona argued that an ordinary noise complaint should not prompt police harassment, emphasizing the improper nature of the responses Kelly faced from law enforcement.
