Exclusive | Alleged sex-abuse Touro Univ. professor kept teaching in department chaired by mother-in-law
Briefly

Menachem Kiwak, a professor at Touro University, continued teaching after students complained about his sexually inappropriate behavior. The university allegedly ignored sex-related allegations against him, including quizzing students about sex and using profanity.
Even after an advocate for Jewish sexual abuse victims wrote to Kiwak's mother-in-law, who chairs the department he works in, he remained on staff. Kiwak was later arrested for alleged abuse, but Touro apparently allowed him to finish the school year.
The university's handling of the scandal has led victim advocates to question if Kiwak received preferential treatment because of his relationship with his mother-in-law, who chairs the department at Touro. Walkenfeld, the mother-in-law, has not commented on the situation even after Kiwak's arrest.
