Michael Keegan, the former CEO of Fujitsu UK, acknowledged having four meetings with Post Office CEO Paula Vennells, contradicting earlier claims of a single meeting. His lawyers expressed regret over unfair prosecutions of sub-postmasters due to Fujitsu's faulty Horizon IT system.
The Post Office confirmed finding references to six meetings between Mr Keegan and Ms Vennells but admitted it could not verify their occurrence, suggesting incomplete records.
Between 1999 and 2015, more than 900 sub-postmasters faced wrongful prosecutions because the Horizon software inaccurately indicated missing funds from accounts, leading to dire consequences.
Mr Keegan's recollection initially indicated only one face-to-face meeting, revealing the complexities and communication gaps surrounding the handling of the Horizon IT system.
