Eberhard Kornfeld, Art Dealer, Collector and Historian, Is Dead at 99
Briefly

Kornfeld, an art historian and author of notable monographs, including a 1979 study on the German Expressionist Kirchner, was described as a unique and seminal figure in the art world by Klaus Albrecht Schroder, director general of the Albertina Museum in Vienna.
He had close relationships with living artists like Alberto Giacometti, who drew multiple portraits of him and urged him to write a monograph, which Kornfeld eventually co-authored posthumously in 2010.
