The Westchester County District Attorney's office found Jeffrey Koonce's conviction was 'tainted by such questionable investigatory processes,' leading to its vacating after decades.
Koonce expressed relief, stating, 'I feel like a burden has been lifted... this right here is vindication of everything for them,' referring to his family's suffering.
District Attorney Rocah stated, 'From the highly suggestive photo array and identification procedures... we agree with defense counsel that Jeffrey Koonce's conviction was tainted.'
