Czech street named after British man who saved Jewish children from Nazis
Briefly

"I didn't know where or why I was going. I didn't know there was a place called England. I waved to my brothers out of the window when the train left the station," said Alexandra Greensted, recalling her childhood experience during the Kindertransport.
Jan Cizinsky, the mayor of the Prague district, spoke about Winton’s heroism: "His courage and humility in organizing the rescue of these children cannot be overstated. His legacy continues to inspire generations, reminding us of the impact one individual can make against injustice."
The street named after Nicholas Winton will honor not only his incredible act of saving 669 children from certain death but will also serve as an integral part of memorializing the dark history of the Holocaust as it runs near significant memorial sites.
In 2003, Winton was knighted, recognizing his relentless efforts and commitment to humanity; his story highlighted in the film 'One Life' featuring Anthony Hopkins continues to educate others on the importance of standing up during times of crisis.
