"When in doubt, a new set of dishes can really turn things around. Okay, sure, this is likely not as widely recommended as therapy or touching grass, but it's nevertheless true. And for those who find peace and mental clarity in the aisles of quirky dishware icon Fishs Eddy in Union Square, things are about to get twice as good when the cult-favorite home goods haven opens a Brooklyn outpost this fall in Dumbo."
"Don't expect this to be a tiny satellite bordering on a pop-up situation. The new 3,800-square-foot store at 81 Front Street is about the size of the Broadway flagship. That means ample space for all the signature Fishs Eddy pieces, the mugs with attitude, plates that double as conversation starters (or, better, bowls), butter dishes shaped like landmarks, enamelware that looks like it jumped out of a retro diner and more of those perfectly imperfect vintage finds."
Fishs Eddy will open a 3,800-square-foot Brooklyn store at 81 Front Street in Dumbo this fall, matching the Broadway flagship's size. The location will carry signature Fishs Eddy pieces including mugs, plates, bowls, butter dishes shaped like landmarks, enamelware and vintage finds. The store will operate daily from 10am to 8pm and the retail lease runs for 10 years. Established in 1986, Fishs Eddy has weathered major events and has served over 1.2 million customers, selling over 1.3 million "212 Skyline" dishes. Dumbo's evolution into a design destination aligns with Fishs Eddy's move.
