A correction officer at the Rikers Island prison complex was seriously injured on Monday after an inmate stabbed him more than a dozen times in the back of the head, the corrections officers' union said in a statement.Earlier today, while working in the protective custody unit at the Anna M. Kross Center, one of our correction officers was brutally stabbed in the back of his head approximately 15 times by an inmate, Benny Boscio, the president of the Correction Officers' Benevolent Association, said in a statement on Monday night.
