Coney Island's Cyclone roller coaster out of service after it was stopped mid-ride
Briefly

"The Coney Island Cyclone is a 97-year-old roller coaster that is meticulously maintained and tested daily. DOB inspected and cleared the Cyclone to open on August 21, 2024. It is not uncommon to stop a ride and evacuate the ride if an issue arises for the safety of our guests."
"City officials expect to issue two violations to Luna Park in Brooklyn, for failure to maintain, because of the crack in the sprocket and its failure to notify the Buildings Department about the incident."
"Video posted on social media show someone being carefully escorted down the tracks, NBC New York reported. Several people were removed from the ride, and no injuries were reported, officials said."
"Operators took the ride out of service because of a damaged part, a crack in the chain sprocket in the motor room, the city's Buildings Department said in a statement."
