"That's the public's building. They should be able to have access to it," Stone said on Thursday, emphasizing the importance of public accessibility to City Hall.
"Nobody on council I know likes it," said Councilman Pat Burt, expressing discontent with the current restrictions and advocating for more accessible elevator access for the public.
Planning Commissioner Keith Reckdahl pointed out that working from home diminishes productivity, stating, "I'm afraid, as taxpayers, we're not getting the full attention of the employees."
Reckdahl observed that with up to 23% of employees working from home on Fridays, the efficiency of city services might be compromised.
