Brooklyn playground covered with more than 50 swastikas in two-day antisemitic attack
""Antisemitism has no place in our city, and I stand shoulder to shoulder with the Jewish New Yorkers who were targeted." "My administration is working closely with the NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force as well as our Parks Department, and those responsible will be investigated and held accountable,""
""I am sickened by this antisemitic vandalism in Borough Park,""
""Same park different day," "A day later and this is what happened. We are requesting that @NYPDHateCrimes pull out all the stops to catch these vile Jew haters.""
A crew of vandals spray-painted more than 50 swastikas and Nazi references across Gravesend Park playground equipment, slides, sidewalks and handball courts in Borough Park over two days. The symbols were drawn in red, yellow and blue paint and included the words "Adolf Hitler." Community Board 12 alerted the 66th Precinct after the first discoveries, and vandals returned to add more markings, bringing the total to 57. City officials and community leaders condemned the antisemitic vandalism. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force opened an investigation and officials pledged to pursue those responsible.
