Imani Williams, a Bronx resident, has been arraigned on multiple charges including second-degree manslaughter and reckless driving following a fatal hit-and-run incident on June 5, 2022. Williams allegedly drove 77 mph in a 25 mph zone, struck livery cab driver Robert Godwin, and fled the scene without rendering aid. DNA collected from the driver’s side airbag was linked to her in February 2025. Godwin suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead later at the hospital. Williams has been released under supervision pending a court appearance on October 29.

This defendant was allegedly driving three times the speed limit when her SUV slammed into a livery cab, and she fled the scene without checking on the driver's condition or waiting for first responders to arrive.
